Interested in volunteering with Girls Rock! RVA? Come BBQ at Patty Conway’s house and meet the core organizers, ask us questions, give us suggestions or let us know how you want to help out! We’ll have volunteer applications and info packets on hand if you want to commit. If you want to help out more informally, just come chill and grill with us!
Anything you can do, from organizing, to fundraising, to volunteering during camp week is so helpful. Girls Rock! couldn’t exist without our volunteers, and we want to show our appreciation by feeding you and quenching your thirst…for punch! Yum!
The party is at 7 N. 21st Street Apt. B + backyard, and kicks off at 4 pm Sunday.

Girls Rock! RVA and Richmond Zine Fest are happy to present this unique and radical opportunity for voicing visions of your ideal community!
What does your ideal community look like? What things exist in our community that help us? What does our community need? What would an equal Richmond look like? Let’s get together and write and draw our responses to questions like these. We’ll create a collective community vision and publish our work in a full-color zine to be distributed around the city!
Make your voice heard. All ages are encouraged to attend, because no matter how old you are, your voice + vision are important!
Saturday, January 18th from 2-4 pm @ Richmond Public Library, Main Branch

Campers, parents, and people interested in volunteering: we’re happy to announce that the 2013 applications have now been uploaded to our site! Campers and their parents can fill out the camper application via PDF or Word document, and e-mail it to us. OR, you can print out the whole thing and send it via snail mail (see details in the application itself). Either way, campers and their parents will need to send us their “Express Yourself!” portion of the application via snail mail (unless you choose to create a video, song, or something else digital). Camper applications are due Friday June 28th! We can’t wait to receive your applications!
People interested in volunteering should please fill out a 2013 Volunteer Application, available in either PDF or Word format, and e-mail the completed app to us (paper copies will, of course, also be accepted!). Volunteer applications are due Friday July 5th! We can’t wait to hear from you! P.S. On the same page on our site, you’ll find applications for leading a workshop during camp; this application also has a due date of July 5th. Please let us know if you have any questions!
The moment we’ve all been waiting for! We’re *THRILLED* to announce that Girls Rock! RVA 2013 camp is a go!!!! This year’s camp will be held August 12-16 (with a Saturday showcase on the 17th). Our host facility will be the Richmond Friends Meeting House (4500 Kensington Avenue, richmondfriends.org), whom we thank for their support!! We also thank YOU, our community of campers, parents, friends, local organizations and businesses for supporting us in our search for a new space. We plan to have updated 2013 camper applications posted to our website after this Sunday, and we will post a notification when the application has been uploaded. THANK YOU!!!
